The Dove Creek Schools has a newsletter available online and on their facebook page - showing what is happening with the various prgrams, student and teacher features and more. Page 2 in the Pinto Bean shows the calendar for Dove Creek MS/HS activities - the Pinto Bean FB page shares area school information as well as Dove Creek.

The Board of County Commissioners meet bi monthly in the courthouse in Dove Creek CO - you can request the agenda and register for Zoom access before the meeting begins through the office. Meetings are uploaded to the YouTube channel for residents to view.

June 27th will be the 6th Annual Big Truckin Car Show at the Cahone Park on Highway 491 10 miles SE of Dove Crek in Dolores County. Family friendly event FREE to the public 10am to 2pm, Food Vendors, other vendors - bring your lawn chairs, hang out and enjoy the day!

May 2nd - Another Great Year Fundraiser!

REPAIRS COMPLETED: MAY 4-14th ROAD WORK ON THE OUTSIDE LANES OF HWY 491 THROUGH DOVE CREEK - alternate side road access will be temporarily closed during the work week - be aware and cooperate with the temporary  closures.  They will also be resurfacing the Dove Creek Bridge, taking the work through to May 14th.

CLEAN UP COMPLETED: MAY 9 - Saturday added 7:30-12noon - then from the  11 -14th  Dove Creek Clean up roll backs will be available for disposal of clean up items - located at 505 4th Street - manned daily hours 7:30 to 4:30pm courtesy an in kind donation worth $3586 through Waste Management

Dolores County Sample Ballots - Primary June 30 2026 - they will be mailed out, you can return them to the Clerk & Recorder office or in the drop box both at 409 N Main St Dove Creek CO

You can only vote on one primary - your party or your choice if unaffiliated. Unaffiliated candidates are securing petition signatures at this time. 

July 1-5th 2026 - Annual Independence Celebration - games, vendors, food, celebration, and the 4th big parade! Details to follow - combined with the CO 150 and America 250 celebration 

The monthly meetings have changed to Tuesdays - official meetings and additional 'workshops'. The official meetings are also on Zoom and available to view on YouTube

DCAD announced the new Ambulance Chief position was filled - welcoming Aaron J (AJ) Fry 4/8/26

The Dove Creek Ambulance District recently reorganized with a new Board with elections cancelled as no additional candidates than there are open seats.

As of March 12 2026 the Board is: Jake Kline, Edward Woods, LaVerna Baxter, Gregg Liming

As per the job ad in the April Pinto Bean - they are looking to hire a EMS Chief.
